Role Playing

Aug-4-2009 By jazzlee

All children love to role-play.  This is one way they learn about the world around them.  From the age of 18months, some children will love to dress up, pretend they are superheroes, princesses, fairies, ballerinas, policemen, firemen, doctors, race car drivers etc.  Don’t be surprised it they also want to be handymen like Bob the builder, garbage collectors and the road sweepers because it is fun to them!

After reading about the exploits of Angelina Ballerina, Arielle currently wants to be a ballerina and has just attended a ballet trial class at Joo Chiat Community Centre.  All the kids turned up in their assortment of ballet tutus, some replete with stars and glitter.  In the class, the teachers encourage the girls (aged 3-5), to use their imagination and pretend to be little flowers or princesses.
